What is Kashmir….

They scream their names loudly.. So loud, hoping for an answer back in this prison of red coloured lotuses. They’re getting lost in this festival of ‘what justice is’ when a vivid music starts playing.

She, is scared of putting lipstick on their lips again. She’s scared that their lips will become dry like their shredded skin after they leave themselves. With blindfolds shutting their voices, she searches for a meaning inside her mother’s eyes. “But Mother, you don’t know why this is happening. You too are lost….”

All corpses eventually merge into a single colour. The colour of who they were before. They want to leave this house but their corpses are tied to their ankles.

Harmonicas on their breasts, their neck’s coloured grey… They don’t want to be painted with dust again. It’s cold. And silver. Like bullets in their bodies instead of blood. Even their scars are buried. The vivid music starts playing again. Music that reminds them of a state when words weren’t forced inside their mouths.

Their heart is a circus not with joys and wonders. When the chorus begins, they know they’ll be stranded right between the ropes. They’ll be the first ones to fall. Fall into nowhere. “Baba never came back that night. Maybe he fell, like the hundreds of dead bodies I saw merging into nothing but one colour.”

Art 370, we made them forget how to live.

Art 370, they can’t seem to escape the houses they’ve built. Their voices are loud but do not reach us. They remind us of the blood eclipses when everyone left them, all alone.

“Tell me Mother, what is Kashmir?”

“Kashmir is the lotus budding in a frozen lake. It does not have sunshine and the warmth yet. But the red painted on our bodies will eventually turn pink. And we will breathe again.
Pink being the colour of harmony, love and peace.”

Kashmir the beauty land of India has been in let’s just say ‘problems’ since many years. Last year, an article 370 was passed to make Kashmir more independent, to make it an union territory in India. But this has lead to the suffering of many people.

Because of the law(Art 370), the police rule over the lands of Kashmir. Not only this but Kashmir bleeds as it has been in a lockdown for more than a year.

Although many believe that making the state a union territory was good deal. And to a certain extent I do too. It really is terrible how people have to suffer.

Children and women are being raped. People don’t have the freedom in this independent India.

In this war the people have been fighting, I stand with Kashmir.

Kashmir, you will heal, unconditionally! ♥️

This post hits a nerve ngl. Egypt with a rich ruler and poor citizens-same thing with Saudi Arabia. The Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Lebanon with its bad people in charge. Syria, which was an independent beautiful country less than 2 decades ago, is still suffering from war. It’s like being constantly surrounded and waiting for when it’ll be your turn, yknow? It’s such a heavy weight; to be thriving while they’re..not.

Yes totally agreed. People are suffering and there’s very less we can actually do about it. Really sucks that humans have gone so ahead but fight over pesky issues.
Oooof! Let’s hope everything heals soon 🌻
